Bulgari MVSA collection colored gemstone necklace

Made of gold, it features 1 amethyst (24.44 carats), 1 pink tourmaline (29.97 carats), 1 olivine (33.20 carats), 1 Tanzanite (35.79 carats), 1 citrine (35.44 carats), 1 gray crystal (19.07 carats), 1 blue topaz (24.69 carats), 5.73 carats of annular colored gemstones and pavé-set diamonds.

Bulgari brought this colourful piece to the 2014 Paris Antiques Biennale, using a cutting technique unique to the MVSA series to present the pure color of colored gemstones in a soft curved surface.

The necklace is inlaid with a total of 7 center stones, covering seven colors: red, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue, purple and gray. The designers specially selected large carats of colored gemstones for cutting, including different colored crystalstourmalineperidottanzanitetopaz, and the smallest one also weighed 19.07 carats.

Each gemstone is cut in a rounded curved surface that gives it a candy-like texture. The stones are connected by gold rings and are accentuated by small diamonds that accentuate the color of the stones.

In response to the design of the colored gemstones and the shape of the ring, Bulgari also specially cut the colored gemstones into a flat ring shape, which is used as a "miniature version" of candy to decorate the other end of the necklace.
